You will likely hear about the Dow Jones making “record highs” today. The only move of significance as of mid-day is in IBM, which is indeed up nicely (+$13). The Dow Jones Industrial Index is unusual in that it is price-weighted, so a $13 move in IBM translates into a 100 point move in the Index.
